Favourite Newcomer to Irish TV

Stephen Byrne
(RTE Two)

Yong people’s TV got a whole lot more interesting with the introduction of 19-year-old Stephen Byrne, who first came to our attention as the presenter of RTÉ’s award-winning online series ApartmentRED. He also presents TwoTube on RTÉ Two – and has even been voted Hottest Male Presenter in his time!

Patrick Fitzpatrick
(Zumo - Fair City)

Patrick burst onto our screens this year as troublemaker Zumo, who has already fallen foul of many of Carrigstown’s much-loved residents. Among his big storylines so far has been holding Charlie captive – but who can be surprised knowing his father is currently in prison and his uncle Baz was a former associate of the infamous Billy Meehan!

Andrea Hayes
(TV3)

One of TV3’s biggest hits this year was Animal A&E, a look behind the scenes at busy animal hospitals around Ireland. But it was one of the presenters who caught our eye, Andrea Hayes, who lit up our screens with her sparkling personality and empathy for the animals she encountered on her travels.

Nick Munier
(Nick’s Bistro)

Our appetites for food-related programmes are showing no signs of abating, especially judging by the great reception that Nick’s Bistro, a series following Nick Munier’s journey to opening his restaurant in Dublin, Pichet. But we think it was the effervescent Nick himself who really made the programme so successful.

Sean Munsanje
(XPOSE)

TV3’s search for the latest presenter of Xposé in hit series Total Xposure was compelling viewing in its own right, but we saw Sean Munsanje as a clear winner from early on. And he hasn’t disappointed, slotting in perfectly with the gorgeous Xposé girls and even giving a much-need male angle on a number of issues.

Ben Price
(Nick Tilsley - Corrie)

It’s not easy stepping into a well-known soap character’s shoes, but Ben Price has proved you can take even a legendary figure like Nick Tilsley and stamp your mark on him – and the audience won’t even blink! Price has managed to bring the old and the new Nick together, to build an enduring character who’s set for a long run on the show.

CarolineTwohig

The revamped 3e news bulletins, fyi…, launched on our screens earlier this year like a breath of fresh air. And leading this modern approach to the news was the gorgeous Caroline Twohig, who has quickly won a legion of fans for her stylish and confident approach to presenting. Watch your back, Anne Doyle!
