TV3 knew a unique story when they were presented with it and commissioned this contemporary interpretation of Oscar Wilde’s play, Lady Windermere’s Fan. Set around a scandal at a South Dublin society wedding, it stars Tatianna Ouliankina in her big comeback role since Fair City.
The Clinic
Now sadly no more, The Clinic followed the highs and lows of the staff at Clarence Street, and introduced two of Ireland’s most celebrated actresses in the seventh and final series, Victoria Smurfit and Alison Doody. The character we’ll weep for most though is Dirty Dan.
Father and Son
Dougray Scott plays ex-criminal and widower Michael O’Connor who following his release from prison returns to Ireland, leaving his son Sean to be raised in Manchester by his sister in-law. When Séan is wrongly arrested for murder, Michael returns to Manchester to help free him and face his past.
Rasai Na Gaillimhe
Rásaí na Gaillimhe (The Galway Races) was a drama series with laughs a plenty. The seven-parter followed the fortunes of some colourful characters over the course of Galway’s race week, with each episode based on one of the seven deadly sins and their relevance to modern life in Ireland.
Raw
RTÉ’s hugely popular drama series about chefs getting a little hot under the collar - in and out of the kitchen. It stars Charlene McKenna in the role of feisty Jo Jo and Keith McErlean of Bachelor’s Walk fame plays her put-upon big brother Shane. Life is always complicated for the staff at Raw.
Seacht
Seacht follows the sexploits of seven students at a performing arts school in Belfast. In fact, Seacht proved such a hit on TG4 that BBC Two snapped it up also. It stars the gorgeous Linda Breathnach and Eoghan Mac Diarmada, who hosts TG4’s music show Pop 4.
